The HeartSine Samaritan PAD 350P AED is one of the smallest and lightest AED available. It is clinically advanced, lightweight, compact, and easy-to-use. Additionally, it has an IP Rating of 56making it very durable. It should be good for any place you'd deploy an AED.
The unit has SCOPE Technology, HeartSine's unique biphasic waveform. Developed through extensive experimental and clinical testing, the SCOPE system gives unrivaled performance and optimizes defibrillation success. Sophisticated SCOPE Biphasic waveform technology adjusts patient impedance to maximize effective shock delivery.
Another unique convienent feature is the easily replaceable Pad-Pak�. It's a combination battery pack and adult electrode set in a cartridge form with a long shelf-life. The convenience is you don't have to keep track of separate expiration dates for electrodes and batteries. All you do is properly dispose of the used or expired Pad-Pak and replace it with a new one.
The 350P is suitable for use on adults and children. For children younger than 8 years, or weighing under 25kg (55 lbs.) a Pediatric-Pak is available.
The HeartSine takes us back to the actual invention of the portable defibrillator in 1966 and the key people directly involved. One of those people, Professor John Anderson (MPHIL, PhD Medical Engineering) founded HeartSine Technologies, Inc. in 1997.
As for the technicalities, the HeartSine samaritan PAD 350P is a low-energy biphasic device. The AED performs regular electronic self-tests on itself and you can tell it's ready-to-use by the visual indicator on the face of the device. It also stores up to 90 minutes of patient rescue data for later retrieval. Events are recorded with the time, date, ECG trace & duration, shock delivery information, and CPR intervals. This information is downloadable to a PC with optional SAVER EVO software.
