The Transcend P8 Multi-Night Battery is an optional power supply to use with Transcend CPAP machines when AC power is not available. It is an 8 cell unit.
According to the manufacturer, Somnetics, when used with a machine set to a single pressure setting of 10 cm h20 the P8 battery provides power for approximately 15 hours of continuous use. Somnetics reports their testing showed little difference in battery run time with or without the EZEX feature active. Factors such as pressure setting, altitude, temperature and breathing habits will affect the actual run time of the battery. Due to the fluctuating pressure associated with an auto-titrating machine, however, an accurate estimated battery run time is not available with a device running in auto mode.
Please note that the Transcend Heated Humidifier cannot be powered by this optional battery; the machine and the heated humidifier do not share power.
The battery is charged using the Transcend Travel machine's power supply. The power supply is plugged into a wall outlet and into the battery. In order to have full capacity, the P8 must be fully charged before the first use.
During periods of potential power outages, the charger can be set up for Fail Over Backup Power; if the power fails, your battery will be there to automatically continue the CPAP's operation.
The battery can be placed close by while sleeping or use the OPTIONAL Battery Pouch along with the Arm Band or Chest Band to secure the battery.
The shipping weight of the battery is 1.5 lbs (1lb 8oz).
