Description Technical Specs Warranty & Return/Extended Info

The CMS 50-E is a fingertip pulse oximeter that measures and can record SPO2 and Pulse rate data for up to a 24 hour period. The unit has audible alarms for both % Oxygen and Pulse rate and the recorded data can be downloaded to a PC for sharing with your doctor or for your own review.

CMS Model 50-E answers the physician, medical, home health care, sports and aviation markets demand for a lightweight, inexpensive monitor for measuring SPO2 oxygen saturation and heart rate during physically active and high-altitude activities. The CMS Model 50-E finger pulse oximeter offers the user a greater ability to monitor these vital signs under motion and is less expensive than most available devices.

The CMS Model 50-E Finger Pulse Oximeter is very small & lightweight. The CMS Model 50-E measures blood oxygen saturation (%SpO2) and pulse rate.

The CMS Model 50-E is based on CMS's uniquely patented algorithms that use dual 'see-through' sensor technology for the accurate measurement of blood oxygen saturation levels and heart pulse rate.

CMS Model 50-E finger pulse oximeter will NOT monitor SPO2 during activity and movement. You must stop the current activity and take the reading while stationary. Movement will cause readings to be affected by artifact.

Aviation Pilots love CMS Model 50-E because it allows them to quickly assess their SPO2 while flying at high altitudes. Hypoxia can be a pilot's worst enemy, and the CMS Model 50-E finger pulse oximeter is a low-cost product which gives pilots peace of mind.

Product reception ,function and data handling March 2, 2016

The product for received in good working order.  It does indicate pulse and oxygen levels.  Having some difficult in recording, storing and down loading data.  User friendly is a challenge but am continuing to work through the process either wireless or down loading stored data.

Good hardware - AWFUL GHASTLY software June 1, 2015
Reviewer: William Fisher from Dunwoody, GA United States
I have owned two of these. Hardware is fine. Software comes on mini-disk which FEW computers can load anymore.  Means a trip to Kinko's to load it.  Apparently the newer  model won't work with same monitoring software as the earlier version, necessitating two versions of software if you use two pulse oximeters.  Calls to tech support put u in touch with non-English speakers, or poor English at best
WE SPENT AT LEAST AN HOUR DISCUSSING DIRECTLY AND FOLLOWING UP WITH THIS CUSTOMER AND PERFORMED SUBSEQUENT FOLLOWUP WITH COMPANY SUPPORT.  THE CASE WAS COMPLICATED BY THE FACT THAT THIS CUSTOMER HAD AN EARLIER VERSION OF THE SOFTWARE OF HIS COMPUTER (AND WANTED TO RUN BOTH THE OLD AND THE NEW VERSIONS) AND ALSO WAS RUNNING THIS pc BASED SOFTWARE ON A APPLE COMPUTER WITH PC EMULATING SOFTWARE.  BUT THE FACT IS THAT WE HAVE BEEN WORKING DILLIGENTLY TO MEET THIS CUSTOMER'S NEEDS

Contec CMS 50D+ (Fingertip) Pulse Oximeter May 8, 2015
Reviewer: LC from SLC, UT United States
As I write this, the web page has changed. The D model may have been superseded by the E model.

-----------------

The main unit and its accessories all appear to be very well constructed.

The User Manual is thorough and well written with much attention to detail.

Programming the operation of the unit is exceptionally easy to perform using only a single button.

The alarm feature, the ability to set the threshold, especially for blood oxygen saturation, is well implemented, and is the reason I purchased this unit.

I haven't used the data recording feature yet. The documentation for it, the software to download and display the recorded data, appear to be well implemented. If I use this feature, I will probably update my review to comment on my experience of it.

In summary, this unit is worth every dollar I paid for it. I could not find anything that could compete with it, for quality and features.

I highly recommend this unit.
